Amelia Tompkin – Accounts Supervisor
“I joined Clay GBP as an Accounts Associate back in August 2020, after graduating from the University of Plymouth with a First in BA Accounting and Finance. Over the course of the next year or so I played an important role in the growing accounts team. My main tasks were to prepare both company accounts and corporation tax returns, as well as sole trade accounts. After a few months I then started my journey to become a Chartered Accountant with the ICAEW. As there are a range of exams covering different areas of accountancy and tax, I was given the opportunity to take on responsibilities in the tax team which included the preparation of personal tax returns and more advanced corporate tax for group companies.
In April 2022 I was promoted to Senior Accounts Associate, which was then quickly followed by another promotion in October 2022 to Accounts Supervisor. In this role I manage the teams’ workflow and review accounts, corporation tax returns and VAT returns. But one of the most exciting aspects of the role is that I have started to build my own portfolio of clients, which is putting me in good stead to look towards becoming a manager in the near future.”

“My name is Emmanuel Lindsay. I joined Clay GBP just over 6 months ago now. I had previously studied my AAT level 2 with a traineeship group known as LTSB. Before joining Clay GBP, I had no experience of working within the finance sector but when I arrived at Clay GBP I was greeted with a warm embrace and made to feel a part of the team here straight away.
I’ve been given a lot of support during my time here to help me to learn and grow further. I’m very excited to soon be starting my studies alongside my work and have faith I will succeed in my endeavour no matter how challenging it may be with the support of my team and experienced colleagues helping me.”
